Venues own calendar and capacity

1. Yes - using the managed locations addon you can block 'overlapping' events at the same venues.

2. Not when creating an event but you can display a separate calendar for each venue or filter the main calendar by venue to see the blocks

3. Do you mean total number of events (over what timescale?) or the number of events that can happen at the same time? This isn't a standard feature but could be implemented as a custom plugin

3. A karaoke place with 10 booths can host 10 events at the same timeslot.
A solution would be to have rooms for location but then they need their own calendar to prevent overlapping.

Or maybe if the extension uses a level hierarchy it could have 1 parent location with 10 child location and disable booking on the parent location?

I forgot also : do locations have an opening hour/closing day setting?

Perhaps a combination of venues and categories would work - you can limit overlapping events by category. At present there isn't a hierarchy of venues but we could create a type of association where your booths would be locations and they would be associated with a venue.

Are the booths 'unique' i.e. each has its own characteristics/name or more of a 'how many booths do you want?'

Yes the booths are unique and should have their own closing days and opening hours.

Yes, if you are familiar with the outlook enterprise calendar system and its room booking system, I am looking for something similar to it.

I think I will wait again a bit though before taking a decision for any extension.

We do offer RSVP Pro as an alternative - you could set up event registration/attendance for time slots and limit capacity to 1 per timeslot. But it would quickly get quite complex to administer
