Hi,

You have an amazing product. If it works for my application, this would be great.

My question: I am using sobipro to create a directory. I would like to add J events so any company in the directory can list any of their events.
1) each company would need to be able to access their own calander and create their own event.
2) Their event is linked to the details page of sobipro to show all the details of that event.

I have more questions, but we can start with that.
Thank you and I look forward to your response.

We have SobiPro support in our generalised CCK addon for silver members. This allows an event creator to select a listing for an event and then to show a link in the event to the listing and also a summary of matching events in the listing entry.

For normal permission event creators they can only select SobiPro listings that they are the owner of in the database.

Geraint, Thanks so much for your reply. I believe this will work so I'll confirm.
1) I will become a gold member to have the access and abilities I need for j-events for sobipro
2) each company can have their own calendar
3) any events listed in their calendar can be link back to the sobipro details page.

There seems to be many more options... such as RSVP and invitations. I'll look into these more as they seem to be something I could use as well.
Thank you,
Nick

Ok, additional question:
Can the link between the calendar and sobipro be automated? meaning, when the person creating the ad for their 'event' or 'sale' is finished in the sobipro 'submit ad form' and it is published onto my website, can that 'event' automatically be displayed in their calendar? And the link back to the 'details' page is created?

Thanks again,
Nick

This would require a modification to the plugin but if there is only one matching listing and the event creator is the owner of this listing then it should be fairly straightforward to implement.

Yes, each event is unique and each company would only post for their company and would only have access for their company and their events.
Is there a known code for this? I seem to remember someone posting something in this regard.

As I said it a fairly straightforward customisation so if you request it in the silver member forum I'll incorporate the required change with a suitable config option to the behaviour you are looking for.

Besides gold is the best option for supporting the project and will help us much better in improving JEvents, if you do not need RSVP Pro component, Silver membership is fine ;)

I would very much like to support your project. I've actually been trying to cobble together a number of features that your calendar provides.. so I'm sitting here... amazed, that it does what it does. You may have just solved my 4 year search to find these things!!
Would it be possible to skype in the future? or I can list all the things I've been looking for and you can tell me if j events will work for my issues. Either way, this is very exciting for me!!

Hi Geraint
I am just exploring using JEvents and signing up for a membership and came across this post about linking Sobipro and Jevents.
We are an international Women's Rights organisation building a database of non-profit organisations (called the Alliance for a Safeworld) working to help women and children globally.

I am very interested in the possibility of linking Jevents to Sobipro so that members of the Alliance can display events they are organising.
Could you give me a few more details about how your plug in works in terms of synchronising with Sobi Pro? And whether it works with the latest version of SobiPro

Thanks so much

Hello Andrew,

As far as we are aware it works fine with the latest version of SobiPro.

The way the plugin works is when creating an event it allows you to select a Sobi Listing. You also have the ability to redirect users to the sobi listing when viewing the event is one exists.

Thanks
Tony
