Hi,
Does the system support registering to one event in two different locations?
Location one is on-site and location two virtual (Lync or similar).
Therefore L1 has limit on the seats but L2 does not.
So if participant is registering to virtual his participation should not decrease the number of on-site seats.

RSVP Pro could certainly allow this with field capacities.
So you could have a select list and call it 'Location'
For L1 capacity value counts as 0
For L2 capacity value counts as -1
As the primary registration is a capacity.
