Tony, I think you have a bug in custom fields because I am getting the following message:

Your session template is getting close to the maximum size allowed on your server - please check your htaccess file and increase the 'max_input_vars' setting for PHP. The number of elements in your form compared to the maximum allowed is:
3571 vs 3800

Notice, I have max_input_vars set to 3800 and your function is seeing that as less than 3571.

Am I correct here or is there something else at play that I am not aware of?

Also, still can't get language constants to work, I have resigned myself to just entering the text in the fields for Custom Fields. I will eventually be required to support seven languages, not sure how I will do that with Custom Fields. When I create en-GB.override.ini, I make sure to save a copy in both language->overrides and administrator->language->overrides, Still Custom Fields doesn't pick it up. What is a poor boy gonna do?

Hello Tim,

Ahh yes I know that story well! Ubuntu is the easiest and cleanest approach by far :-)

Yep you are right in regards to the overrides, if you know the constant and value then perfect!

Looking good tim! Thanks for the loggings they were helpful.

Many thanks
Tony

Tony, the problem with the max_input_vars warning went away when I set that to 4800.

Also, the problem of language constants not being replaced with their values, doesn't occur on the hosting account, only on my MAMP localhost.

In fact it is working on my MAMP local host as well; forgot to copy the the language constants to the en_GB-override.ini files, then open the Custom fields plugin and save, in fact I was forgetting to do that before as well.

I need top remember to open the Custom Fields plugin every time I make changes when I don't use your interface, which is a very nice interface by the way, it is just that copying and pasting text into a text file is still so much faster.

Just thought I should let you know.

Thanks Tony, I always make sure that I add language constants to both language/overrides/en-GB.override.ini and administrator/language/overrides/en-GB.override.ini. Right now both files are identical..

If I am using the interface, I make changes to English (en-GB) - Administrator and then check apply to both box.

As far as I know Ubuntu is the best flavor of Linux. What is your preference?

I am running Windows 7 as I was really pissed at Microsoft and swore I would never install Windows 10. They basically tried to force an upgrade to Windows 10 on my RAID 5 array, which failed, but did manage to erase the boot sector of the RAID array. I didn't have a backup because I was relying on the redundancy of the RAID 5 array for kind of implied backups and didn't think about the situation where the boot sector would get trashed; I thought if one hard disk in the array goes down, no problem, just replace it and it gets rebuilt from the other good hard disks. Microsoft said, oh sorry, yeh we trashed you computer, but we aren't authorized to provide you any resolution; tough luck. I had just finished getting Sublime Text 3 connected to all my projects, where hitting [ctrl][s] would save to both the remote server and locally at the same time, had gotten all the plugins I wanted for Sublime Text 3 set up, was about to settle down to some productive coding, when I saw the Windows 7 Update prompt which I clicked on expecting to go through a reboot cycle and instead after reboot, I get a BIOS prompt that said there are no bootable partitions on this computer. I hit [ctr[][alt][del] thinking it was a glitch, but got the same BIOS prompt. I thought I had done something wrong, but after several days with Microsoft tech support, I found out that in fact Microsoft had done something wrong. I was under a tight deadline at the time that I was subsequently not able to meet; that was a horrible experience.

Had to tell you that story.

Any way I will try to get that installed on Windows 7. I will probably get Windows 10 Enterprise in the not so distant future. Enterprise, so I can turn off all the data collection crap. I do need some Windows apps like Photoshop.

I will update the host account with the current changes to jEvents and then give you login later today.

Breakfast and Starbucks time for me right now.

Ok great.

Custom fields, should be picking up language constants if they exists? can you make sure they are applied to both front end backend and not just one?

No need to do that Tim, just setup a Lando stack with docker, or if windows 10 you can run an ubuntu sub system see:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-win10

Many thanks
Tony

Right now I am working on local host. Once I finish the current set of tasks I have started I will upload the site to Siteground.com and I will provide you a login there, so that you can take a look. Probably tomorrow around noon PST

True 3571/3800 gives 94%, so that is close.

I will try setting it to 4500 and see if the warning goes away and if that solves it, I will let you know, if it doesn't I will also let you know and give you your credentials.

Perhaps you might be able to tell me why Custom Fields isn't picking up the language constants at that time as well.

Perhaps it is just MAMP running in Windows. Really need to partition my hard drive and install Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP in one partition so that I can boot into a native Linux environment.

Hello,

It's likely a percentage warning as you are getting close to the limit.

Can I get super user link/logins and I'll take a look for you.

Also, confirm which language constants.

Many thahks
Tony
