I'm having trouble uploading my file.

1. I created custom fields, which I added to the end of the file
2. I am trying even to upload my 'test' file, and it still fails
3. I saw in a previous post there is a character limit to the 'description' field? Could that be the issue, as those fields are very, very long...
* Note I'm providing a zip of both files, the full file and just the test one

Error:
Not a valid VCALENDAR data file: compsci-eventlist-2019-04-22-test.csv

thanks,

Hello,

Please see:

https://www.jevents.net/frequently-asked-questions/importing-events-in-csv-format

Yours is missing TIMEZONE for one, But it's also good practice to keep them in the exact order as provided in the Link above.

Many thanks
Tony

Ok, getting closer, sorry about that... What should I set the TIMEZONE field to be? We are in NY.

So I used, America/New_York as the time zone. --> better now!

But for some reason only about 10 records are being imported from the file of 250...

Can you see where the 'corruption begins'?

Hello Laura,

I suspect it is how you saved it. I've opened it with LibreCalc and saved it and imported all 238 events. See attached.

Many thanks
Tony

Excellent!!! What a nightmare! Thank you for your help!!! Yes it uploaded perfectly!!!

I just downloaded it, now I can add that to my 'suite' of tools when massaging this very complicated data!

You can set this to RESOLVED! Hopefully I'm not 'jumping the gun', as I have to 'reimport' the data again today...

thanks,
Laura
