HI,
First of all, what a great extension. I've been using for several years now and it works really well.
Just one question, when trying to embed a Google Map into the description bit of an event it never shows on the site, but does on normal Joomla articles on the site. Is this deliberate to try and get a paid account or is there a way to get them to work?

So that depends on the extension you are using? A lot of extensions only run on com_content and ignore any other extensions calling content plugins.
IF you are just copying and pasting code into the event details, you will likely need to allow raw in the event editing configuration.
Furthermore, we do have JEvents Managed Locations for our Silver Members which allows you to add your locations and re-use them, but also then filter events by locations etc.
