I am a first time user for this component, and I have no coding skills, so please bear with me if the question is too simple. I have tried to edit the default form that shows when a registered user adds a new event. I am creating a calender for local poker tournaments, and the event info should have specific fields with details about each event.

1. question: Do I have to change the Event Detail Page first? I tried that, but the changes I make never show in the frontend - yes, I have cleared my cache after saving?
2. question: Once I have made the changes to the details showing for each event (in detailed view), will a registered user see those fields when he adds a new event?

1. Did you publish/enable the customised layout? It should have a green tick/checkmark against it in the list of layouts when you do
2. You would need to customise the edit page too to change the fields seen when adding an event - see https://www.jevents.net/docs/jevents/it ... iting-page - but be warned its an advanced topic.

thanks for the update. Would you be able to do the editing for me? I'd give you a description of the event detail fields that I need and you give me a price quote?

If you give us the list of fields you want and how you want the editing page to look then we can advise you on what is involved.

the site will be a calender for live poker tournaments. The info I need on every event is:
Tournament short description text box
Game type text box
Satellite to ? text box
Multi-Day event? yes/no tick
Buy-in including fees text box
Prize money guarantee text box
Maximum players text box
Starting chips text box
Blind levels text box
Blinds go up every text box
Rebuy Info (time, fee, chip amount) text box
Add-on Info (time, fee, chip amount) text box
Start date date selector
End date date selector
Venue text box
City text box
Additional info
Map (link to Google Maps) - not sure whether I need to purchase an addon for this?
Event report text box (for optional posting an article about past events, like a list of winners)

The person who enters the events should be required to enter all those details, and be able to edit them as well.

You will need a couple of silver member addons - the custom fields addon would give you all the 'additional' input boxes you need, the agenda/minutes addon would allow you to link to a Joomla article visible only after the event takes place, the locations addon would allow you to add venues and maps to your event.

Thereafter its a matter of customising the event layouts and editing page using the layout editor. You should be able to do most of it without resorting to coding and we could help you in the silver member forum . If you want one of us to do the implementation and styling then we would need screen mockups etc. to be able to estimate how much work is involved.

Well that sound just perfect. I'll get a Silver membership then. Sounds like I can get most of the stuff done by myself with the add-ons.

I purchased a Silver membership just now, but the download page still says "A silver membership is required". Is there a time lag between purchase and activation? I am logged in with my account, and the account says my subscription is active.

Hello,

Did you logout and back in again as per the notice which is displayed after purchasing?

Thanks
Tony

IT could be because your username has caps it's not being found.

Can you try now I have updated your username without caps.

Thanks
Tony
