Hi Tony

I do not like the default event editing layout page very much and so I wanted to brush it up a little.
But as soon as I remove anything from the Custom Layout Editor, the calendar settings hide in a second [Tab].
Example: I remove

{{Title Label:TITLE_LBL}}
which does not seem to have anything to do with the calendar settings.
And there we are: the calendar settings have gone to a second [Tab].

My intention is to have a clearly arranged, single page for editing events.
As little scrolling as possible, as little clicking as possible.
Any fields visible at first sight.

What I do not like (see screenshot):
Title: caption and input field are arranged inline and look different form other input fields.
State: caption and input field seem to be placed accidentally somewhere on the page.
Some captions are both outside and inside the field, other captions are outside the field only (not uniform).

Well, my only question is:
How can customize the event editing layout without influencing the «one page» appearance.
All items should remain on one single page, not in a separate [Tab].

Thank you and kind regards
Chris

Hi Chris,

I will be working on the event editing page as I agree this needs more work.

But the customisability should effect it. Can you try deleting the whole custom layout and saving again and saving again and trying the delete it should now work.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony

it was hard work but I found a solution that works for me. I am not sure if this solution would work for anybody though.
I removed the line

{{Tab Start:TABSTART#JEV_TAB_COMMON}}

Then I moved the line

{{Calendar tab content:CALTAB}}

from the bottom to a new position underneath

<div class="row jevtitle">

The result was not yet overwhelming. Therfore I added some code to the Administrator Template «Isis» custom.css.
Now I am quite happy with my customized and clearly arranged «Event Edit Page» layout.
Create an Event.png

For documentation purposes I have attached some files with the code I am using.
