Hi

Using Joomla! 3.4.6

I have tried uninstalling JEvents and reinstalling with the latest JEvents 3.4.4 to start afresh but old data is still available.

I uninstalled the following JEvent modules from Extensions: Manage

JEvents Calendar
JEvents CustomModule
JEvents Filter
JEvents Latest Events
JEvents Legend
JEvents View Switcher

Message
Uninstalling the module was successful

I then refreshed the cache. However, JEvents is still listed in Joomla BE Components>JEvents

I opened phpMyAdmin and deleted the following tables:

sjbc_jevents_catmap
sjbc_jevents_exception
sjbc_jevents_rrule
sjbc_jevents_filtermap
sjbc_jevents_icsfile
sjbc_jevents_repetition
sjbc_jevents_translation
sjbc_jevents_vevdetail
sjbc_jevents_vevent
sjbc_jev_defaults
sjbc_jev_users

I also deleted the following folders:
public_html/components/com_jevents
public_html/administrator/components/com_jevents

Are there any other references to JEvents that require deleting before reinstalling?
I require a clean installation of JEvents ie as if I was installing for the very first time.

Please advise.

Hello Phil,

All you need to do usually is uninstall the JEvents Package. We leave behind the tables as it's quite common users accidently remove jevents core when they don't mean too or uninstall it for an update which they think is the correct thing to do.

You will need to remove JEvents from the Joomla! Menus table and the Joomla! Extensions table.

You can also see:

Point 3.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony

Thank you for the swift response. Please excuse my ignorance for the following questions.

You will need to remove JEvents from the Joomla! Menus table and the Joomla! Extensions table.

Are they the following tables in phpMyAdmin?
sjbc_extensions
sjbc_menu

If so, I can not find any reference to JEvents.

Also, how do I run the cleanup script from the backend of my site logged in as super user?

Hello Phil,

1. Yes. If JEvents is still showing in your menu item then JEvents will be in your _menu table.

2. You login to your site via the Joomla! Administrator side and once logged in run the script via the url.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony

Sorry to be a pain but I tried lines 1 and 2 before replying to you.

I was logged in as Super User Admin (scroll to bottom of attached image).

1. JEvents is showing in Joomla BE menu. See attached screenshot. I have searched the suggested locations using phpMyAdmin and I can not find any reference to JEvents.

2. I ran the below script:
http://www.stjosephsbowlsclub.co.uk/cle ... ?cleanup=1

The following white screen error message was returned:
Must be logged in to backend of Joomla as a super root user to run this script.

Please advise.

Hi Phil,
were you logged in in another tab of your browser as Super Admin user (Not just as admin)?

Hi carcan

Since my last post I have:

1. Re-installed JEvents and then followed Tonyp's instructions to uninstall JEvents Package.

2. Re-installed JEvents again. Everything appears to be set to Default except for IDs eg Catergory ID starts at 54. I would like everything to be set back to 1 [i:2u72x0l1]as new[/i:2u72x0l1].

I'm hoping the cleanup script will do this except I can not get it to run.

I have only one browser window open and I have logged in as Super User.

Hi Phil, can you please provide Super User Access and phpMyAdmin access to your site? This seems like a specific scenario that need to be checked directly.

Hi carcan

You have uninstalled JEvents which I was able to do.
The problem is re-installing JEvents does not reset everything back to as new condition. eg catergory ID starts at 54 and not 1.
I would like to obliterate all references to previous installations and re-install as if it was the very first installation.

I shall re-install again and check.

Hi carcan

I have re-installed.
Problem still persists. ID starts at 55. See attached.
[attachment=0:13hx4zbq]<!-- ia0 -->Categories.JPG<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:13hx4zbq]

My concern is there could be other data/references left behind which I would like to ensure are removed before I start populating with new data.

Hi Phil,

There is nothing to worry about there. That is part of the Joomla! Categories/Assets table and nothing to worry about. It's an auto incremental number and we will just add onto it as we need to.

Many thanks
Tony
