I would like to have a clarification about JEvents and a multilingual site.
The website of our association is in three languages: Basque, French and Castilian. There are two categories: Aman Komunak and Others (with the language for each: All). In frontend the events is displayed well in the language that will have been chosen on the site, but the name of the category is not translated (for Aman Komunak it is not embarrassing because it is a name).
So we should do as for Joomla articles, do as much category and event as language? if so, what is the purpose of the translation system :

No - there is an easy way to translate category names. If you set the category name to something like
JEV_CATEGORY_OTHERS
Then use the Joomla language overrides system https://www.jevents.net/frequently-asked-questions/custom-overrides-of-language-strings and set translations for JEV_CATEGORY_OTHERS for each language (making sure you set the override to apply to the frontend and backend) then these translations would display when you create/event events as well as displaying events.

Thank you. Why not have the same translation system in place for categories as for events? It would be even easier than language substitution.
