Hi:

Right now it seems that I have to go into the calendar.php file at the start of each year to change the dates of each month. Is there a way that my client could easily do this at the start of each year? I don't see an option anywhere within the component or module..

thank you.

Hello,

Can you please explain on what exactly you want to change the year on?

Is this the JEvents Mini Calendar?

Many thanks
Tony

Hi: I think it's the mini calendar... you can see it here:

Why do you need to change the dates? Minicalendar automatically rolls up to current month when the month changes.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I understand your point.

Can you please give more details of the changes you are doing and why?

Thanks.

I'm wondering if I should delete the year from the date from the calendar.php file... it seems that is what I need to change when a new year rolls around. Hope that clarifies things...

Why not cross reference your override with a current version of the original file and cross reference as we are not sure what you have changed.

By default, the month should is the current month.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi: I had someone look at this for me last year and this is what they said that I'd have to do every year:
"the date will have to be changed to 2016 instead of 2015 for each month. This file would need to be edited then uploaded to the following folder via ftp: /http://thecovehouse.ca/templates/rt_paradigm/html/mod_jevents_cal/geraint

The only other things I changed were some css things to change the look from vertical to horizontal... What I'd like to have happen is for the year to change automatically each January 1st, or can I just take the year out and the calendar will automatically change on January 1st...

I hope this all makes sense, please let me know if you need any further clarifications... many thanks.

On January 1st of each year, I want the calendar to change to reflect the correct calendar for the current year... It can say the year as well as the month, or just the month... we just want to make sure that the client doesn't have to do anything like changing the php file... If there's something they need to do in the back-end that's fine... make sense?

Hello,

The calendar by default does this automatically.

Just remove your mod_jevents_cal folder from your template.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi, just double checking - do you mean to remove it from the modules folder? I don't see it under the template...

Hello,

If you do not have it in:

/templates/your_template/html/

mod_jevents_cal

Then just reinstall JEvents and it will auto change the month/year depending on the month we are on now.

Many thanks
Tony
