Hi JEvents Team,

I recently updated JEvents to 3.4.1. The frontend of my website now appears to be ignoring Categories.

I create a menu item in Joomla. I've always used Date range in the past. I set my absolute dates, and I choose my categories. I'm confident the categories are correct in there since I'm choosing them from a drop down menu. The same applies to me creating the events. A drop down is provided to choose the categories from. When I pull up my website and choose this menu item, it shows me every event within the selected dates. The chosen categories are completely ignored.

I've tried creating the menu item using List by Category. This shows me all of my events but gives me a drop down where I can choose a category. Choosing any of my categories simply shows me the same list of all my events. I've also tried creating the menu item using List of Events. This allows me to add a column that includes all of my categories. They all show up next to their event, so the information seems to be there.

In the backend, when I look at all of my events, I can choose a category from the drop down, and they will filter correctly. The issue seems to be with how the frontend is "seeing" these categories.

And ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Firstly immediately update to Joomla! 3.4.3 as you are at great security risk.

Secondly, Do you have the filter module showing on this page by any chance?

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tonyp,

Thanks for the advice. <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: --> I'm all updated now.

I had never tried the filter module before. I've enabled it on a test page I'm messing with. It recognizes and lists all of my Categories but choosing one from the drop down doesn't change which events are listed on that page.
