I am creating a new calendar from a CSV file and it is quite complicated content. So I have needed to try the import, identify errors, correct them on the CSV file, delete the events, delete the calendar and then create the calendar again with the corrected CSV file.

Unfortunately having done this I still have errors to resolve and having deleted the events I get the error

Deleting this will create orphan events - delete the events first
when I try to delete the calendar.

I made sure that when managing the events I filtered for this specific calendar and had Hide Past Events set to No. I had emptied the trash as well.

How can I find what is linked to this calendar please?

Hello,

Somehow you had events with the category ID of 81 but not category under that id? I've changed them to DEFAULT now so you can delete them as you see fit and then delete the calendar.

Many thanks
Tony

Hello,

Can you go to JEvents Configuration -> Save, then JEvents -> Categories -> Orphaned events -> Publish and view events again?

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,

Afraid I can't see an option for Orphaned Events under the Manage Category page:

Hello,

If you filter by state all do you see any unpublished categories?

Go to JEvents -> Configuration -> Save & Close

and try again?

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,

Afraid I can't see any unpublished categories. I did find that I had some categories in Trash which I have now emptied. But still no luck in deleting the calendar.

Ok, can you provide super user and phpmyadmin access and I'll take a quick look at your database setup for you.

Many thanks

Hi Tony,

Thanks for finding the problem for me. The calendar CSC 2019 is now deleted.

Those events mistakenly had an incorrect Category on the CSV file. They had a Category of Open when the valid Category was Open Meeting. This was one reason I needed to correct the CSV file.

Was there a way I could have resolved this problem (other than getting the Category correct first time round!:D ). I suspect creating a Category of Open would not of helped as the relationship with events is by the category ID, not wording?

Regards

Peter

Hello Peter,

No you are right that wouldn't have helped. Can you confirm if you had a non-jevents category called Open or if you deleted the 'Open' category?

Many thanks
Tony

Tony, I don't think there was ever a category Open. However there may have been one when I first setup JEvents which then got replaced by Open Meetings. I'm afraid I can't be certain now.
