Virtuemart shopping cart for multiple events

We use RSVP Pro for booking club members (tennis and squash) into events and use payments, attendees, waiting lists and so on very successfully.
We are now looking for a solution to book a number of events in a single payment. The scenario is tennis kids coaching over holidays where events are provided every day and a parent can pick the days they want their child to attend (for example Mon, Wed and Friday).
From searching around it appears that either Virtuemart or Hikashop would provide the shopping cart facility we would need whereby a parent could click 'Attend' on each of the 3 days in turn and in each case a nevent would be added to the cart.
We have installed Virtuemart and enabled the various RSVP Pro plugins and added Virtuemart to the event template.
When we click to book the first event we get the messge 'Reminder Confirmed, Event Added to Shopping Cart' from Virtuemart and 'Your attendance has been recorded - but you have an outstanding balance on your registration. You must now make your payment to complete the registration process' from RSVP Pro.
We can go on and add other events but cannot find a way to get to see the shopping cart and so check out.
What are we missing? We only need the shopping cart facility from Virtuemart so have done minimal setup there.
Is there a tutorial or video on setting up the pairing of RSVP Pro and Virtuemart?
