Good morning guys, I updated Jevents this morning and I'm a little freaked out by the new admin interface and all the errors I'm getting on the front end. On every non-Jevents page I see:
JEV_PLEASE_CHECK_START_AND_END_TIMES_FOR_THIS_EVENT

If I try to edit an entry I get a 500 Layout edit_datetime_uikit not found.

From the back end Manage Events, it's impossible to view sort events, too many missing. Repeats not displayed. It's a mess.

I would like to go back to the previous version without losing my data. Please advise.

update should be working now - there was a partial zip file on our download server. The FTP upload had failed part way through the upload :(

You can download the old version from https://www.jevents.net/download-area/jevents/category/jevents-3-1

I'm looking into your errors (they are very strange so I'm trying to figure out what is going on).

Can you give me some background information:
1. What version of Joomla are you using
2. What language is your site running in?
3. Which browser are you using?
4. Do you use the JEvents filter module?
5. Are you using the latest events module on the pages with the "JEV_PLEASE_CHECK_START_AND_END_TIMES_FOR_THIS_EVENT" message?
6. Is the message you get when editing an event exactly
"Layout edit_datetime_uikit not found" - unless you have an event editing template override that could be causing the problem? Can you edit events in the backend?

p.s. I found the issue with the missing layout error it arises when editing repeats in the frontend. I'll look into the other issues and do a patch release with the fix later.

I did make some progress once I realized this version is likely not compatible with older add-ons. I had a gold membership and was still trying to use Locations. I have disabled the older addons and editing/creating from the front end is working. I also suspected modules may need updating, as the update didn't seem to do any checks.

1. What version of Joomla are you using 3.9.20
2. What language is your site running in? English
3. Which browser are you using? Chrome / FF
4. Do you use the JEvents filter module? Yes V 3.6.0
5. Are you using the latest events module on the pages with the "JEV_PLEASE_CHECK_START_AND_END_TIMES_FOR_THIS_EVENT" message? Yes 3.6.0 Happens only on non Jevent Pages, but all of them.
6. Is the message you get when editing an event exactly
"Layout edit_datetime_uikit not found"
That is correct, likely from the Yootheme/UiKit used on the site.

With the older addons/plugins disabled #6 is not an issue. #5 is still happening, does seem to be related to the Latest Events Module

It is possible that some out of date extensions would be incompatible :(

#5 This message would normally arise from a repeating event where you have edited the first repeat and changed its start date/time or deleted the first repeat in a way that makes it difficult for JEvents to generate the remaining repeats.

Unfortunately the message isn't very helpful to identify the event concerned. It would be helpful if you could unzip and upload this file to components/com_jevents/libraries/jicaleventdb.php and it will give us the event title in addition to the message you already get

#6 pending the new release can you copy the file components/com_jevents/views/icalevent/tmpl/edit_datetime_uikit.php to components/com_jevents/views/icalrepeat/tmpl/edit_datetime_uikit.php

I've uploaded the patched file and I am now seeing 2 entries having issues, however they are impossible to find in the back end. When you select Manage Events and have 6 years of events, finding one specific event is like finding a needle in a haystack. THere are ways to make the haystack smaller, but without a date filter very difficult.
The new message:
JEV_PLEASE_CHECK_START_AND_END_TIMES_FOR_THIS_EVENT : pork chops, brocolli, carrots : problem 1

JEV_PLEASE_CHECK_START_AND_END_TIMES_FOR_THIS_EVENT : chicken burgers, veg : problem 1

I searched for pork chops, brocolli, carrots and found nothing, same for chicken burgers, veg.

Tried to attach a jpg but it's an unsupported file format.

THank you again

The backend event view issue is strange - if you have a LOT of repeats then the backend interface is simplified.

You can change the threshold for this transition by editing the config (icon top right of backend) and change the large dataset threshold from the default 100000 to 1000000

Is the list of events more helpful now?

Still no luck finding events with the names in the error message.
I can find several entries for Chicken Burgers but none with chicken burger, veg. Same with the pork chops, brocolli, carrots.

Some headway. The events in question are repeats that have been editied.
I use this for our weekly menu plans, I create a sunday event and repeat 6 times, then edit the title of each with what we are making on each day. The repeats are not found with searching in the back end.
I did not adjust the dates, but they look fine.?

Can now edit repeats from the front end, however anything I open to edit from the front end shows up in the error as another entry with a problem.

The joys of debugging.

The reason you can't find the event by its title is that its the title of an edited repeat.

The BBQ chicken/alabama white sauce is on 13 Aug but for some reason is on the 8th of august on the home page latest events module. Its the 'supper' event and there is something wrong with the dates stored for this event.

I'm looking at this in more detail now.

Do you have phpMyAdmin available so I can take a look at the events tables to figure out what is wrong with this specific event?

I fixed the module on the home page and realised the warning you are seeing is redundant in your case because of the way you are creating your events.

I have installed the latest build for you with this message suppressed.

There seems to be an issue with the update script that outputs the zip file for some users. I haven't been able to recreate the issue yet but am working on it.

In the meantime please download from https://www.jevents.net/download-area/jevents/category/jevents-3-1 and install manually
