Hi there! When I set my Latest Events Module to -
Display Mode: 7 (Random events).
Display Events from the next ? days: 30
Past Events Only: Future Events Only
with a filter on Featured Level: Priority Level 0

It shows past events. I have to change the priority level for the past event so it won't display. The module also steeply prioritizes the next upcoming event (I have 3 priority 0 events in the next 30 days, the nearest one shows up ~80% of the time, the second one shows up ~20%, and the third one never. I tested this with 100 refreshes).

I tested removing the priority level filter, and the module continues to show past events, although it showed a much larger array of events. I tested using a custom field filter with a Boolean and ran into the same problem.

Can you help diagnose the problem? Is this an issue with the module or with my set up?

Thanks!

A few things to check.

1. Does the randomisation work when you disable the priority filter ?
2. Enable joomla debug mode and search for the query being used - it should have an "ORDER BY RAND()" at the end
3. If these are multi-day events make sure use Eventdate in the format string and note Startdate

Hi Geraint,

Uninstalling the priority filter entirely didn't work, and these are not multi-day events. It is still showing past events. Any other ideas?

thanks!
