I am using Watchful and repeatedly get errors for a version of jevents failures for version

Sample11 JEvents - Attendance, Invitations and Reminders 04/16/2020 3.4.30 3.5.4

Sample11 RSVP Pro 04/16/2020 3.4.30 3.5.4

I brought this to the Watchful support and their reply to these errors were:

We report the available correctly based on developer extension update feed URL:

https://www.jevents.net/updates/35950G21B4A032-9853-0C6C-BB9D-C4884F986FC9-d2lqa3JhYWRldXJvcGF3aWprLm5s/com_rsvppro-update-3.4.13.xml

I'd suggest you contact the extension developer and ask him if they added that version incorrectly in there.

Can you please follow-up on this?

Hello,

The update is actually correct. The problem is there is a download ID there which isn't supported.

Can we ask that you add your update code into the website, we do nothing fancy but the URL contains a code which is validated against that website. Unless Watchful is trying to download to their server it should update without issue.

I do have the access code in the site as well as in my Download Id's section on your site. I will forward your reply to the Watchful support people.

Thanks, the Watchful developer asked if Update url for is available publicly if so please ask them to provide us the correct update url, can't find one in the package provided.

The problem is that Watchful, historically, fetched update information and updates once per extension across all of their clients and all their client sites. This meant that users were able to update their commercial extensions after their subscriptions expired as long as the download id for the single URL Watchful had checked was valid. We were forced to implement site specific update URLs to protect our business interests.

They had supposedly eliminated this issue but it appears that they may be doing something similar again or its possible that your domains have changed(?) . The update URL you have tells you what the problem is

Invalid access code - please login at JEvents.net to obtain an access code for your subscription . The current access code is for the domain wijkradenschalkwijk.nl compared to wijkraadeuropawijk.nl


Are one or both of these domains yours?

Its possible that you developed the site as wijkradenschalkwijk.nl but that is has been transferred to wijkraadeuropawijk.nl - if this is the case you should go to https://www.jevents.net/updater-access-code and delete the old domain and create a new code for the new domain and update the setting on the client website

Hello,

The domain sample11.ivhost.org is my domain. It is a demo site for my clients to see features live.

Here is my access code info: Domain: sample11.ivhost.org Code: 25134G37E9B57C-37A6-3B97-5FC0-64ED071A77B7.

As you can see the domain is exactly the same, it is live and you can see it for yourself.

I will also post your reply to them about the url for the udpate.

Here is Watchful's reply to your reply:

Hello,

I have discussed internally and unfortunately we do not support updates for those paid extensions.

For now you can use our remote installer in order to update websites that require updates.

As about what Jevents devs replied, afraid they are wrong, we do not fetch updates, we simply use the update url provided by extension xml file, if there's no update url specified in the extension package, then we do not provide updates for that extension.

If Jevents devs are interested to have their extensions supported on Watchful they can contact us and we can see if it's possible to support their extension.

Sorry again for inconvenience, for some reason I missed that support for their extensions is not available

In the next couple of months we will be changing the way we do these updates in JEvents and the club addons which will hopefully resolve these issues at Watchful

Great! In their portal I can provide a license key for many of the other paid extensions which addresses those updates currently.
