I've been using JEvents for a few weeks, and love that you're able to upload custom CSV files as a calendar. I have done so and haven't had any problems until recently.

I am trying to set the Location field to a URL. This works fine, except that JEvents is appending an anchor tag to the URL, which is causing a problem when I try to use the Location field in a template to create a hyperlink (the already added anchor tag interferes).

Is there any way around this? If not, can somebody point me towards the file in JEvents that handles calendar imports? I can remove the anchor appending myself but haven't been able to find the correct file.

Hello Joeb,

Great to hear you like JEvents! :-)

Can you post a sample copy of your CSV file? The location field doesn't format a url by default.

Many thanks
Tony

Hey Tony,

I cannot post the actual CSV as it contains private data, but I will say that I found a workaround. I began appending my own anchor tags and linking the data in the CSV (instead of doing it via the templates). The only issue this presented is that if the anchor tag didn't look like
<a href="/url">anchor</a>
JEvents attempted to append anchor tags in the display. So if there were any spaces between href and =, or spaces between = and ", the output looked very wrong.

I assume JEvents does some regex searches for URLs and HTML to do its own customization?

Nevertheless, I fixed the issue by tinkering until everything went smoothly.

Thanks for the response, though.

Hello,

It's very possible we run it through the Joomla! Filter. In the JEvents Event Editing set 'Allow Unfiltered HTML to 'Yes' '

Many thanks
Tony
