Hej,

I have an event related to three categories. Now I want ro remove one of them.
I am not able to do so. There is no way to delete a category, once chosen.

Please, can you help?

Thanks a lot,
Holley

Hello Holley,

You just click the X or click the box and then hit backspace see:

Many thanks

Hej Toni,

thanks a lot. But his does not work for me. Neither in firefox nor chrome for Mac.
There is no cross to click even if I spread the select-field manually. Bildschirmfoto 2019-12-04 um 11.06.12.png Bildschirmfoto 2019-12-04 um 11.17.00.png

Hello,

Ok you have choosen removed. So press CTRL and Click it, but you need to select a category.

Many thanks
Tony

I am sorry but this does not work anyway.
I select a category, press CTRL and click the chosen category. I get a popup menu.
Even tried with cmd, alt etc. I wonder how this should be possible. Or I am just too stupid.
Maybe you have another idea? ;)

Thanks a lot,
Holley

Hello Holley,

Maybe it's something to do with your country but in the UK CTRL hold and left click allows selected all the categories.

Can you try the backend instead of the frontend?

Many thanks
Tony

Hej Tony,

I only tried from backend! I do not work with the frontend. Or did you mean the other way round?

CTRL + Click by mouse allows selecting - but no possibility to delete/remove. ;(

Okay. Done. Thank you very much! (It is not that urgent. If you want to come back after x-mas, no problem! It is just a manic-developper-cleaning-problem ;)

Hello,

I just check and pressing CTRL and left clicking each allows selection of one or more see https://www.dropbox.com/s/gj8tw9soipccskz/Kazam_screencast_00000.mp4?dl=0

But, I am confused on your issue. You just need to select any other category to select 1 category.

Please note, you also need to update Joomla!

Many thanks
Tony

Of course I am able to select one or two or all three categories of an event but I can not delete one or two or three categories.
Please just choose any event you want and cancel/delete/remove the category „Wichtige Termine“.
I hope we do not misunderstand.
Thanks for your patience.

Hello,

I think we are lost somewhere here, what do you mean by DELETE? Do you mean unselect one category?

I would advise you google how to select multiple in a select list in your language/country. in the UK you press CTRL and left click as many or as few as you like.

If you truly mean you want to delete a category, then you do that from the category manager not an event.

Many thanks
Tony

Hej Toni,

no, I mean it, like I wrote in the title of this thread. I just want to un-select a category from an event.
Anyway ... thanks for your support.

Hello,

But you want to have categories selected just un-select a specific one?

It is weird your site is not loading the default Choosen library though which comes with the core... this allows X and removing to avoid the need for a multi-select type selector which you have.

Many thanks
Tony

Maybe it is because of the rooting. I will come back when the system is online and really rooted under its domain-name.

Thank you so much, Tony!

Oh my god, Tony. I am so sorry. I have been totally confused.
I thought I have to delete a category in the selection-field to remove the relation between an event and a category.
Now, creating a new event I recognized that all available categories are shown up and I have to choose in an active way which one to relate to the article. So I do not need or have to "delete" or "remove" a category, save the event in expectation that the deleted category is not seen any more.
I am so sorry. I am just a blockhead. :(
Wish you a merry, merry christmas and thank you again for your constant kindness and patience and willingness to help me.
