I had a lot of trouble with the list view and the relstart setting in the menu until I found out it was my misunderstanding caused by wrong placed angle brackets in the languagestrings for the tooltip. Don't know if this is the right way to submit a language correction, but here it is (administrator/../de-DE.com_jevents.ini):
JEV_RELSTART_DESC="0d = heute<br/>-1d = gestern<br/>-4w = 4 Wochen zurück<br/>-2m = 2 Monate zurück<br/>-3y = 3 Jahre zurück<br/>-1m,-1y = 1 Jahr zurück, ein Monat vorher<br/>etc."
JEV_RELEND_DESC="0d = heute<br/>+1d = morgen<br/>+2m = 2 Monate weiter<br/>+3y = 3 Jahre weiter<br/>etc."
