I'd like to change the default layout to organize the event titles by category, but only display the category name once.

How can I achieve this?

Hello Pappy,

My apologise, what I mean by that is it should organise by title for the same time. But if you have different times, then you would expect to see the first event to be the first in the day and so on.

You would need a JEvents Category menu item to show events grouped by categories.

For overrides, we follow the native Joomla! Core. You will need help from a php programmer to re-order the events before display however. You can see here for more information on customising the layouts at the core level.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,

First you say it will not organize them by title:

"Why not use the JEvents Category menu item? That will show them by category then? But they will not be organised by title, you would need to create a template override to handle this."

Now you are say it will work? Huh?

I asked where the documentation for code/tags or whatever needed to do the template and you didn't answer.

Taking a long time to get to nowhere.

Hello,

So create a JEvents Category view menu item and that will render the events into categories as per the screenshot :)

Many thanks
Tony

The client wants it setup like the example. I see no clear documentation on how to create the template override to do what they want.

That is why I asked for help.
