I need help creating a desired layout. The layout we want is shown in the image jevents-layout.jpg.

We want that layout incorporated into a page so we aren't able to use a menu item.

The page in which we want the layout is shown in the image page.jpg.

Can you advise how to accomplish this?

A few other items:

- I am unable to find the Layout Editor
- We are using the File and Image Uploads extensions, but I can't get images to appear on a test page I'm using for experimentation. PM me for a URL.

Thanks

Hello,

It would be very squashed putting that on the homepage butn the layout you have shown is of a JEvents List of Events Menu item. You can achieve it and I've adjusted it to get you started. But it will need some more code / header setting

See:

For more information on how to add data into the custom format string section of the Latest Events Module.

Many thanks
Tony

Hello,

You can accomplish this with the Latest Events Module and custom HTML.

1. It is the custom format string in the latest events module, or for menu item views it is JEvents -> Custom Layouts
2. You need to add the tags as per 1.

Many thanks

Thank you Tony. That only answers part of my question.

I am unable to get an uploaded image to display with an event.

Can you offer advice on that issue?

See the Site Details for more info.
Also, I'm not clear how to implement the html.

The number of events we want to display will vary. It could be 1 event or 10. For this to work, I'd have to have the html for the table be dynamic. For example, if there is 1 event I'll only need one table row. But if there are 10 events I will need 10 table rows.

I don't understand how to dynamically create the table.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

Once the plugin is enabled your will have a list of upload fields if the plugin has been configured i.e. user groups set who can upload etc.

Note, if you have customised any views with the JEvents Custom Layouts then you also need to apply the standard image and files tags too.

I tried accessing your site but also need a htaccess username/password.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony. Again, I'm not really getting answers to my questions.

Please tell me how to successfully upload images.

I did enable the plugin and configured permissions but I'm still not able to upload images.

Hello,

1. Ok sure where would you like this table to be shown? In an event? In Joomla! Articles or in JEvents list from a JEvents Menu Item?

2. Joomla! Admin -> Components JEvents -> Custom Layouts

3. Joomla! Admin -> Components -> JEvents -> Manage Events -> Edit or new -> Select image

Note, I've logged in and customised the Standard Image and files plugin. I've set this to show to public, note that's who can see images etc not who can upload. I've set that to managers, but they can only upload images if they can create events.

Your images should show in the frontend event details by default now, i.e. see http://yourdomain.com/jevents-list/eventdetail/2/-/american-boiler-manufacturers-association.html

Please do let us know if you are struggling with anything.

Many thanks
Tony

Thanks, but we still aren't there.

As I posted previously we are trying to get the Events to display as a block of content on the Home page.

See the screen capture "capture.jpg" for the location on the Home page.

We want the layout on the Home page to match the layout of the image I sent previously. See image "jevents-layout" for what we are trying to accomplish.

While the image shows on the page for the link you sent me, I still can't get the image to show as part of the content for Events on our Home page.

Please advise.
