Hi,

I'm using mod_jevents_latest 1.5.5 b1879 to show upcoming events. But if I turn on the feature that displays all instances of repeating events, I also get one line per day for multi-day events. That's not what I expected. I would like multi-day events to only show once with the starting date/time.

A temporary workaround is of course to turn off that feature. But I really want the repeating events to show on several lines. :(

So, is this a bug or was the module intended to work like this? Any possibility to get it changed?

Tnx,
Mike

Which version of the main component are you using? There is a newer version of that module in the Downloads area, would it be possible for you to update it?

You may also update the component, specially to make auto notifications plugins to work ;)

It turned out that I am using the latest version. The package posted on the site labelled build 1880 installs something that calls itself build 1879 in the module list. So I was using the latest version all the time.

I also upgraded to Jevents 1.5.5 #1871. The behaviour of the latest events module did not change.

Problem persist.

Can you show me a URL?

The last time this problem was reported it turned out the event had been created as a multi-day event with overlapping repeats. e.g. a 5 day event repeating daily so that by day 5 you had 5 overlapping instances of the same underlying event.

The site is restricted to crew members of SAR vessels only. Even if we still are in the final beta phase before launching, it already contains some stuff that is classified as confidential by local legislation. Needless to say, I will not post a user ID and password on the forum. I will set us a test account and PM you in a moment.

But no, these events should not be such strange overlapping ones.

thanks - I took a look and checked the code and can confirm that if you don't want the multiday event to appear on multiple days then you need to check the option to only show the event on the first day in the event editing screen.

Thanks,

OK, I will try that and see how it works for us in practice. But I think I also will take a look at the feature request submission form ...

Sorry, I have to get back to this issue. After some investigations I really have to call this a bug, and not a lacking feature.

Because:

- If you select to only show the first instance of repeating events, this mod does show only one day of a multi-day event, but NOT always the FIRST day. This is misleading and indicates that the event start on the wrong day.

- All days in the event are shown with the starting time of the first day, which is incorrect. No other days, except the first one, do have a defined start time.

So I would kindly propose a fix to this module. I can live with only the first day shown, but then I want it to really show the first day.
