JEvents 1.5 (No longer actively supported)

Event management and ticketing software ???

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

I looking for an Event management and ticketing software such as : ticketmaster.com, goldstar.com and Eventbrite.com.

An Online ticketing company that provides Web-based event management system to help small and midsize entertainment venues, including promoters, colleges, churches, theaters, nightspots, comedy clubs and individual artists - to organize an event and sell their own tickets online.

The event management features I would like are:
Online listing, registration and delegate management including online payment
Procurement, sourcing and RFPs - for Events (stage, sound, lights, performers, Compere etc )
Content management including reviewing, programme development and publishing
Venue selection and online booking of venues
Exhibition management including floor planning, booking and billing
On-site operations including registration, badges and networking

Events can be Paid events (we will charge brokerage/transaction fees), Free events and free Promotional Events : Where we charge the event organizer per targeted lead.

We would like featured listings and charges based on : Impression, Clicks, Leads and sale of tickets

Just want to know Jevents, has the features that I am looking for, before subscribing to the gold membership.

JEvents + gold/silver addons provide some of what you are looking for. It provides event registration (with payment), the ability to add venues, artists, comperes etc.

You can also create custom fields that could provide some of the the RFP and tracking functionality but this would need to be customised for your needs.

Online booking of venues - if this is a communication process between event organiser and the venue management then this is not possible at present. It is possible to associate venues with events and I am working on a 'no-multi booking' mechanism.

Ticketing, badges and registration is not currently available.

I would expect that a system that provides all the functionality you list would cost thousands of Pounds/Dollars/Euros.

What aspects of this ticketing system?

Self printing of tickets is available now and I'm working on barcode validation of tickets which will be released soon.

No further than a prototype at this stage but should not be difficult to implement if there is demand.

I've been concentrating on developments asked for by current club members and this has not been raised as a hot issue.

Hi Geraint,

I would be interested in the barcode option. I have joined the club but it is not massively urgent as the site is just in test at the moment. Another component that i was trying to use at one point offered this through a service called CodeReadr. I gave up with the other component in the end as it meant double entering all the info - once into jevents then into the ticketing component.

I've just started a ideal features poll in the gold member forum - can you vote for this feature there.

I'm planning to implement this in the next couple of months.

Hi Geraint,

Any news on how this may be progressing. I am looking to implement this into a site for a new client. I would be happy to pay a little extra for your time to work on this and help test it for you.

I have proof of concept working (generating a barcode and responding to it) but nothing more at this stage.

My thought is that it would do the following:
1. Barcode printed on tickets
2. Barcode scanned:
Valid - 'valid barcode' message + actual attendance field updated to true
Invalid - 'invalid barcode' message + actual attendance field NOT updated to true

There would only be one bar code per booking initially - so if you have 4 guests they would need to arrive together as a group.

How does that functionality sound to you?

The next 3 weeks could be quite busy but I can try to fit it in.
