JEvents 1.5 (No longer actively supported)

Creating and modifying of events failed

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

Ok - step by step:

a) create a new event in Admin-Page
b) save - the following error message appears: "Problem saving event - Es ist ein Fehler aufgetreten"

Same errors by modifiying an existing event.

Can you change line c.78 of components/com_jevents/libraries/iCalEventDetail.php to read

Code: Select all
JError::raiseError("Problem saving event ".$this->_db->getErrorMsg());

An try again - the error message should then give us more information.

Thanks

I've modified the code as suggested and become the following error:

Problem saving event Unknown column 'multiday' in 'field list' SQL=INSERT INTO `int_jevents_vevdetail` ( `dtstart`,`dtstartraw`,`duration`,`durationraw`,`dtend`,`dtendraw`,`dtstamp`,`class`,`categories`,`description`,`geolon`,`geolat`,`location`,`priority`,`status`,`summary`,`contact`,`organizer`,`url`,`created`,`sequence`,`extra_info`,`color`,`multiday` ) VALUES ( '1235110980','','0','','1235144820','','','','','test','','','test','0','','test','test','','','','','test','','0' ) - Es ist ein Fehler aufgetreten

Each time you do an upgrade of the code you need to run "DB setup" - it doesn't delete any data just adds missing columns or indicies to the data tables.

I think you may have upgraded and missed this step.

Hi Geraint,

you are right - after DB-Setup it works

Maybe you make hints for the DB-Setup needings in SVN-Blog and Forum Rules.

Thanks

From the sticky post in this forum where you got the latest version ;)

Upgrading from earlier build of JEvents beta or alpha 3

Just install the components and modules on top of the existing installation - note that there is NO need to uninstall before hand.

You must remember to click "Setup Database" - this will not delete existing data but will apply any database changes required in the latest build.
