JEvents 1.5 (No longer actively supported)

SOLVED - Translations install problem

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

Hello,
I'm running Joomla! 1.5.25
Jevents 2.0.11
Joomfish 2.1.7

I'm taking management of a site with english/spanish/italian translations. Articles and menus are translated OK, but Events are not ; seems natural as nothing had been installed, then :
I installed langoverride_1.3.4.zip
I went to plugin administration to activate "System - Language Translation Override" this plugin being number 38 when "Joomfish - Missing_translation" is 22.

Installed "es-ES_JEvents_2.0_J15.zip" and got an error message (I translate it from french) :
"language Installation: no package for :es-ES"

of course Spanish language is running with joomfish.
May be it is a problem with plugin order ? I don't really know.
if anyone can give me a clue, I would appreciate.

Thank you in advance.

Did you install the Joomla spanish language pack for the joomla frontend?

no, did not, does this mean I should ?
When I searched why the name of days/month were not translated, I saw that there was a specific language file for each language, and that this one could not work without installing the language override plugin.
But did not see anything about installing language frontend.

of course, the language is installed for joomfish, I thought it was enough, as menu and articles are OK when people click on the right flag.

thanks for your answer.

No - you need to install the frontend language for Joomla otherwise the language installed doesn't have anywhere to put the JEvents language files.

OK, I'll have a look at how to do that. But I don't understand why it does not use the same directories than Joomfish does ?

thanks

Hi tangopos,
I am not acquainted with joomfish at this moment, but in Joomla! 1.5 all translations of all extensions need to be in the same folder as the main language. This is axiomatic.

If you need the Spanish package my advice is that you get the one created by comunidadjoomla.org. The specific link to the files is:

All best.
