JEvents 1.5 (No longer actively supported)

jEvents 1.5 and sh404SEF

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.
Forum rules
Please include as much detail in any test or bug reports for JEvents 1.5 as possible.

First of all, check if you are running the latest available version of Joomla! and JEvents. Posts for issues, where both systems are not updated, will be ignored.

I wrote little plugin for sh404SEF to make jEvents 1.5 URL's look nicer. This worked quite fine. But problem... when I signed in, I got lots of errors:
Code: Select all
Notice: Array to string conversion in /var/www/administrator/components/com_sh404sef/sh404sef.class.php on line 3748

Notice: Undefined index: 10 in /var/www/components/com_sh404sef/sef_ext/com_jevents.php on line 55

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /var/www/components/com_sh404sef/sef_ext/com_jevents.php on line 55

Notice: Array to string conversion in /var/www/administrator/components/com_sh404sef/sh404sef.class.php on line 3748

Notice: Array to string conversion in /var/www/administrator/components/com_sh404sef/sh404sef.class.php on line 3748

OK, it complains only about those sh404's files, but still, everything works fine when using system as not signed in.

I'll post that plugin shortly to my Joomlacode, http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/sh404_plugins/frs/ because at least that other error might be in my plugin too (but just can't understand, why I can't see it when not signed in).

Edit: I didn't made file yet, because there are couple of URL's that still needs to be handled. But if you like to try plugin, it can be found in SVN:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/sh404_ ... iew=markup
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/sh404_ ... iew=markup

(language file is from old jEvents, so that needs to be updated too. But now it contains all needed strings for plugin)

EDIT2: And environment information:
* PHP version: 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.4
* Joomla! version: 1.5.9
* JEvents version: 1.5 alpha3, package com_jevents_1274.zip
* Web Server software: Apache/2.2.8 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.2.4-2ubuntu5.4 with Suhosin-Patch mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.8g mod_perl/2.0.3 Perl/v5.8.8
* Server Operating system: Ubuntu Linux
* Database version: 5.0.51a-3ubuntu5
* memory_limit: 64M

These are warning about errors in the sh404sef code - they are visible because JEvents enables error reporting (during development and testing).

Raise the issue with Yannick and you could disable the error reporting by commenting out the command at the start of events.php in the frontend

OK, so error reporting is displayed only when user is signed in?

Edit: I actually noticed thread for that "Notice: Array to string conversion in /var/www/administrator/components/com_sh404sef/sh404sef.class.php on line 3748" error in sh404's forum. Other error is at this point more interesting, because this variable value should be all the time OK, and that index which is displayed it "evdet_id", and my search in plugin uses rp_id.

Noticed one very annoyin feature of plugin/jEvents:

At first all looked fine. I created one event, and then loaded some iCal files that i founded with Google. And everything was fine and URL's OK (query below)

Code: Select all
        function shEventTitle($evid){
                global $database, $sefConfig;
                $EventTitle = null;
                $q  = "
                        SELECT r.rp_id, e.evdet_id, e.summary, r.eventid
                        FROM #__jevents_vevdetail e, #__jevents_repetition r
                        WHERE r.rp_id = " . $evid." AND r.eventid = e.evdet_id";
                $database->setQuery( $q );
                $EventTitle = $database->loadObjectList('rp_id');
                $jeventTitle = $EventTitle[$evid]->summary;     // title
                $title= $jeventTitle;
                return $title;
                }

Then the problem... I created new event, which got ID 34. Query above wasn't doing it job anymore, because evid wasn't same thing as rp_id.

I have to try to think some other way to combine URL events to titles than ID-number. Maybe I should use the UID, which makes search plugin little more complicated (it's quite "interesting" already (if interested, check search thread)).

I'll take a look at the search plugin - this may then give you ideas for a solution.
