JEvents 1.5 (No longer actively supported)

SOLVED - Cannot edit/delete event via front end (only add)

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

I cannot figure out why I don't get the edit bar when logged in as administrator in the front end (Actually, I want logged in authors to be able to delete their events via front end). Settings under Permissions in control panel are: Adminstrator: Administrator; Enable user authorization: no; Creator/Editor/Publisher levels are all set to: Author; Can publish own:yes;
When I log in via front end as administrator, I can add an event, but not edit or delete it (don't get the edit bar on the event page). What am I missing? Thanks for any help.

1. upgrade Joomla to version 1.5.23 as soon as possible you may be at risk of being hacked with such an old version.

2. What do you mean by the 'edit bar'? Is this the edit pencil on the event detail page?

Go to JEvents admin and then "EVENT EDITING" tab and turn off "front end edit in pop up window."

After I did that, I was able to click on the "ADD AN EVENT" link from the front end and now my calendar works great! If you want it to open in a pop up window...I'd love to know how. LOL!

Hope this helps, and big thank you to Geraint for a great product!

Hello,

What permission's are you using? Authorised User Mode? or global permissions? Can users view the Delete Event link?

I have set the 'Enable User Authorisation=> No'
The users CANNOT view the Delete Event link (not even the administrator). Am I missing something?

Yup.. You need to check the permissions on each category for each usergroup and also on the Jevents Permissions Tab, For better control you are best of using the Authorised User Mode.

Hello,

With the authorised user mode, you need to add each user to the Authorised users and and specify their options.
