Seperating Calendar from template

Postby wstinnett » Wed Aug 13, 2008 3:20 pm

Is there a way to configure the calendar so that when you click on the calendar link in the main menu a new page comes up with only the calendar and seperated from the template? We have a narrow template with a right and left column so the calendar is skinny. It would be great for the calendar to open by itself with a full width.

Thanks,
Walter

Hi Walter, I think that's more a Joomla issue than Jevents. What you need to do is make Joomla load the page without the template, or preferably with a different one (a plain, simple one maybe?).

In the Joomla backend (administrator) menu, you can go to Site->Template Manager->Site Templates to see a list of all available templates on your site.

Click the radio button in front of the template you want to use & choose "Assign" from up top.
This will then show you a list of every menu item on your site & you can highlight which pages you want to load with that particular template.

When you have a template set as "default" all pages will automatically load with that unless you tell it to use a different one. To have the page load with no template at all, you'd need to have no template selected as default, BUT I wouldn't recomend it as you'd then have to manually select each new page you create later that you do want to show with the template & your menu etc wouldn't load on the non-template pages either.

Hope that helps,
Hez.
