When I set my category colour, the hex code appears on my calendar on the front end... can you please help? It looks very unprofessional.
If I remove said colour, the hexcode #ccc appears on the front page.
I can not get rid of it.

you need to modify: JEvents -> Custom Layouts -> Monthly Calendar tooltip remove the background tag and publish.
