I've just spent money on another component to try to meet functional needs of a client -- a public library. In the end they decided not to change from their very old off-site solution for that functionality -- but fortunately I had asked the developer if I could try his component and get my $$ back if we couldn't make it work for our purposes.
Now I'm chasing their calendar needs -- no Joomla component has all of the features of their current off-site service, but I'd like to demo to them how close we can get. Any way I can be refunded, if they reject the jEvents solution?
Needs:
a way for users to request an email reminder -- I think your rsvp extension will handle this, but can't see it in action without buying. And I can't tell how much trouble the cron job will be -- one time setup or for each event? That would be a deal breaker, I'm afraid.
a way for users to "tell a friend" -- Maybe we'll just use the Joomla email icon for this, or can we add a "share this" type plugin to work with jevents?
repeat events -- you've got this covered!
display with images -- I think club template ruthin will be nice.
ical export -- you've got it!
rss feed -- I think this should be possible, not sure how.
any way from the event creation action to grab the url to the event detail page? The library director likes to post and event and then immediately include the link in his enewsletter. Maybe if he was set up to do front end event creation, he could grab the url from calendar list display?
Thanks for considering my questions -- I just kind of hate spending money for extensions and getting stuck with the bill if the client decides to stick with their old "solution".
