Hi,

We are on Joomla version 3.8.3. Is jEvents supported on this version as we've noticed some bugs which have been introduced since upgrading, or has there been a change to PayPal that requires changes to the jEvents setup?

We have tracked down the problem to the RSVP Pro/Pay Pal setup. When an attendee signs up for an event that requires approval, they are immediately taken to the PayPal payment processing page upon clicking Submit - rather than being told their attendance is waiting approval. The event owner receives the usual email (they have an attendee to approve), so is unaware of the problem.

This is also occurring for people signing up to events which have reached their capacity. Upon clicking submit (and correctly being wait listed at the back end), they are still taken to the payment page, so are under the impression they are attending. Again, the event owner is unaware this is occurring.

On the transaction side, the attendees that pay BEFORE the event reaches capacity are correctly documented as having paid (if the event didn't require approval).

Those that pay AFTER the event reaches capacity or BEFORE their attendance is approved are marked as attending, there is a corresponding transaction in the RSVP sessions attendees list, but the columns 'courses fees, total fees, amount paid, outstanding balance, payment method) are all blank - so we have an indication something is not quite right.

Please see the attached screen capture for an example.

Historically, attendees couldn't make payment until their attendance was approved and/or the event had the capacity to accommodate them. We're constantly having to process refunds at the moment and it's making event management a nightmare.

Can anyone please advise if they are having the same problem and how to fix it. Any help would be very gratefully received!

Many thanks.
Hello,

This is correct if they are on the list, we implemented the auto-delete to prevent this. So if the attendee hasn't paid by X time they are removed and have to re-register.

Many thanks

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the super-quick reply!

What do you mean by 'on the list'?

The expected behaviour is:

  • An attendee shouldn't be able to make payment if they haven't been approved for an event.
  • Nor should they be able to register and make payment if the event is already full.

Otherwise what's the point of specifying the event capacity if it's just ignored?

We've no problems with people registering and making payment at a later date. The approval process is implemented to prevent additional people registering until the initial attendees have made payment (although this is being ignored currently too ).

Thanks.

Hello,

Can you please open a topic in the club forums for support on this club addon? Providing your JEvents support info from the JEvents Control Panel too please.

Many thanks
