I tried to buy a Silver Club Membership, but PayPal won't process the payment - I tried 2 different cards a VISA and a Discover but no go (these cards work fine daily elsewhere.)

Is there another way to pay while you get this fixed?

Thanks.
Hi,
I had the same problem with a Gold Subscription purchase.

Actually quite strange, not even getting an error message, just doesn't go to the next step.

Hi,
Exactly. It's a shame, I had today set aside for this jevents project and now it will have to wait a few days due to scheduling.

We are extremely sorry about this guys, it looks like PayPal may have changed some of its rules by forcing certain users to sign up.

I have pointed this out to Geraint to look in to tomorrow.

Very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Regards
Tony

I'm looking into this - can you guys tell me exactly where you are getting these problems and the steps you are undertaking.

From what I understand you are arriving at Paypal landing page and then clicking the link to pay by card, entering the card details there and then get a blank page from Paypal??

Any screenshots you can take and upload would really help isolate the problem.

In the meantime I could send you our bank details if you can make an interational bank transfer.

Thanks for your patience and help in resolving this issue

Hi Geraint,

The paypal server simply returns to page with text "billing address" at bottom without a complaint after entering cc info.

Geraint,

Great software btw.

No, when I get to the payment page, I enter my credit card info and click "Continue" but it just stays on the page - it never advances. No errors, nothing. Someone recently said PayPal is making it more and more difficult to pay by credit card IF you have a PayPal account and don't wish to sign in. They're biting the hand that feeds them.

Thanks for help. We really need to add the popups on event info in the Mini-Calendar module.

Gave up and signed in to pay. I'm not sure if PayPal is just forcing it's members to log in so they (PayPal) can track our every move or if they're incompetent or a bit of both.

I would be concerned that it just doesn't work and you're losing a lot of money from people just giving up and not buying.

Anyway, I just purchased the Silver club membership.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,
My screen looks very similar. In my case the billing address is showing correctly, but clicking continue just returns you to the same page without any error message or change to the page.

Not much joy from Paypal yet - tech support promised an email response but nothing arrived in the last 12 hours.

I notice from the screenshot above that the Billing Address is blank - had you filled this in before hitting the 'continue' button?

Hi Geraint, sorry if I caused confusion. The billing address is blank because I removed it prior to uploading snapshot to forum. The paypal form presented the address correctly when I was in the session.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Paypal have finally admitted that this is an issue in their systems encountered by many Buyers from the USA and is not just affecting the JEvents.net site.

They have rolled out an emergency bug fix - so please let me know if you still encounter this issue so I can chase them again.

Thanks
