Hi,

I've just noticed that when searching a word using the Joomla search feature, Joomla includes in its results unpublished events. Is there a setting that would exclude results when events are not published?

Thanks
Roland
Hi,

Any idea on how to solve this issue because I would like to avoid deleting the events to keep them as archive.

Thanks
Roland

Hi Tony,

I have done a new test, this time deleting the event but keeping it on the trash bin. The smart search component still returns a result for that event even though it is trashed (but not purged). This is the case also after recreating the smart search index and purging the joomla cache for both site and administrator.

Why does Joomla smart search return a result for an event that is on the trash bin, or is unpublished ?

My jEvents version is v3.4.43, that I have purchased.

Hello Roland,

Please update to JEvents 3.4.50 (It's fine to just update the core) This should resolve the issue.

Many thanks

Hi Tony,

There are two issues, which are solved in 3.4.50 please, the two or one of them ?

1) results should not show for unpublished events - Fixed ?
2) results should not show for events in trash bin - Fixed ?

They should be yes. But can you confirm what version of Joomla! search you are using? Search or Smart Search?

Hello,

Joomla! has two search components:

Smart Search
Search

I've now checked again smart search, if using this one then when unpublishing/trashing the publish end in the smart search is set to the time of unpublish so it cannot be found searching in the frontend.

You need to update Joomla! to 3.4.15 for security reasons.

Many thanks
