Hi Jevents team,
I would like to inform you that the latest Jevents 3.6.83 broke my Joomla 3 site.
The whole site was not accessible anymore which gave a HTTP 500 error.

The logging showed the error (masked the IP-address for privacy reasons):

[Sat Sep 07 16:37:45.511289 2024] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 27702:tid 140299205019392] [client x.x.x.x:53415] AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Could not check compatibility between JevDate::toSql($local = false, ?Joomla\\Database\\DatabaseDriver $db = null) and Joomla\\CMS\\Date\\Date::toSql($local = false, ?JDatabaseDriver $db = null), because class Joomla\\Database\\DatabaseDriver is not available in /home/sgwzc/domains/sgwzc.nl/public_html/components/com_jevents/libraries/jevdate.php on line 594', referer: https://www.sgwzc.nl/competitie/trainingstijden

Installing Jevents 3.6.82 again made the site accesible again.
I looked in the changelog. Maybe this has something to do with the PHP 8.3 deprecation fix?

My configuration:
Joomla! 3.10.12
PHP Version 8.0.16

If you need any more information let me know.
And yes I know I have to upgrade my site ;-)
Working on it but takes quite some time. Hope you can fix this issue in the meantime.

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Olivier
Thanks for highlighting the issue - we probably should have left version 3.6.82 as the last Joomla 3.10.x compatible version.

I'll release version 3.6.83.1 as a fix specific to Joomla 3.10.x

Actually - there are other issues for Joomla 3.10 in JEvents 3.6.82

We are going to leave 3.6.82 as the last release for 3.10 instead.

I have updated our XML update file so version 3.6.83 should not be offered for Joomla 3.x users any more and I've updated the changed log too.
