Hello,

The site was set up using Joomla 4 and the iCAL Google Calendar export worked.

I have updated the site to the latest J5 version.
The iCAL Google Calendar export works, but no events are displayed in the Google calendar.

If I choose to download iCAL as a file, open the content, I see many entries/events. However, Google Calendar doesn't want to.

What can be the cause?

Joomla5.1.0
PHP 8.3.6
Database 8.0.32

Ok, I think I have found a solution.

In the Settings menu link you must deactivate “Restrict the iCal menu entry (see important information in the tooltip!)”.

If I have activated this setting, selected the corresponding categories, then saved them, then deactivated the setting "Restrict the iCal menu entry (see important information in the tooltip!)" - then on the menu link "Events-ical Export" page the previously selected categories will be displayed after deactivating "All Categories".

If I export iCAL calendar entries with "all categories", then everything, EVERYTHING, is exported.

If I deactivate "all categories" - as mentioned above - the categories previously shown in the settings of the menu link are displayed to me, and only these are exported to ical Google Export.

So if users export a calendar, they must deactivate "all categories", then only the corresponding preset events will be exported.

When this option is enabled the iCal URL has an Itemid=xxx part added to force the URL to load from a specific menu item and if that is private (as yours is) then Google cannot access this menu item to download the exported events
