I do not understand (having read some of the forum posts) whether your calendar will allow me to list events by the event start date. Please advise? It seems like a very basic requirement that seems lacking from many calendar systems.
You mean just a list of events like this http://www.jeventsdemo.net/date-range or like this http://www.jeventsdemo.net/list-events

Then that is really simple! You just need to create a JEvents List of events menu item and select the desired fields. For images, you need to Standard Image and Files plugin available to our Silver Members.
