Hello,

Ok so the custom module just allows you to pull the details for that view into a module position.

So you are using the event details page and say you want to have the title out of the content area and instead in a slideshow module position. You can then place the custom module into the slideshow position and then on the event details page it will load and show the output for that event.

It simply just allows you to place code of the event outside the content area. Like the maps for instance might be nice in the sidebar.
