Hi I have just been through the process of upgrading joomla from 2.5.28 to 3.9

As a part of this I uninstalled Jevents 2.2.8 and installed 3.4.49

I cant see any of our old categories or events. (nothing at all its like fresh install). The old Db Jev tables are still there and have the data.

I have missed something obviously. Can anyone give me a steer.

Hello,

So the issue is likely down to categories. JEvents 2.2.8 used it's own category table. But you are now using Joomla! Categories with the latest release.

Do you have many categories? If not, you can do a phpmyadmin update and manually remap the categories in the events to the new ones in JEvents

Or you can try the orphaned categories function and in JEvents go to the configuration and click save. Then go to categories and within there it should an orphaned categories, publish it and you should be able to see the events to manually remap them.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi, Thanks a lot Tony. I redefined the categories using the jevents component. I then changed the mapping in jevents_catmap, nothing shows on the calendar and all the events are still orphaned. And even the orphaned events do not show in the calendar. I assume I need to do the remapping elsewhere?

Also if I add an event using the jevents component this also does not show in the calendar view. Its there in the events table but not showing at all on my calendar.

Sorry I am totally new to Jevents.

Hello,

The remapping will be too late if you have orphaned events. This moves them to the orphaned category so you fix them, note the orphaned category is unpublished by default so you need to publish it to see them.

Also try a new browser with inprivate caching in case a filtering cookie is set.

Many thanks
Tony
