Hello, our silver subscription has run out and I will re- up it to Gold if you think you have a solution for our situation. Our current version is 2.0.10 and url is http://bluestarcooking.com/buzz/events- ... 13/04/29/-
NOW we wonder if we can search by zip code? In the testing we did it seems that the SEARCH only really searches the Event part and not the locations part. Can you tell us if there is a way we can add search by Zip Code functionality?
Hello,

You can most certainly search by ZIP using the Filter Module and applying the Zip Filter, would that work?

did you try the search plugin for the locations previously?

To see if it's installed, can you copy and paste the 'Version Support Forum' Information for us?

Many thanks

Thank you. I forgot to mention that the site was Joomla 1.7.0. The person who installed jEvents is not working with us at this point so I'd need step by step instruction on where to get and install the Filter Module. Is this a normal setup? We have two componants, jEvents and jEvents Locations. See the attached screen capture via screencast http://screencast.com/t/GXsvF3z3P
It looks like I already have the Filter module but when I search by anything in the locations part it finds nothing. It seems like the search only works with the actual events. Any feedback is appreciated.

Hello,

Well you do not have the search plugin for the locations.

You really need to get on Joomla! 1.7 quickly, this release was not for general production and was a Short Term release mainly for developers of people updating their site at a regular rate. You should be using 2.5, as 1.7 poses several security risks.

Furthermore, all your JEvents plugins etc need updating to. There has been many improvements since your versions.

Many thanks

For an example of a site using this filter see http://www.stlsprout.com/calendar/today ... ventsbyday

Note that this particular site has set a fixed distance of 15 miles and hidden the distance selector.

The filter should work with city names since it uses the google maps address lookup.

The results can be shown on a map above or below the list of matching events using the Map layout/theme.
