When you click a link from a "List by Category" menu item, you can't change category on the edit page.
Now I can see why that might make sense, but in our case it would be useful.

(I manage the website of a voluntary non-profit organization. We have events (sailing trips) which require a crew of two. There are two categories "crewed event" and "event needs crew". When someone registers as crewing an event, they can then change the category if the event is now fully crewed).

If there is no other solution I guess I could use mod_rewrite, as the only difference in the URLs seems to be the menu name.
eg.
https://klitta.dk/index.php/kalender-usermenu-52/icalevent.edit/1911?rp_id=1981&year=2025&month=04&day=30
vs.
https://klitta.dk/index.php/kalender-usermenu-52/mangler-besaetning/icalevent.edit/1911?rp_id=1981&year=2025&month=04&day=30
Is this a permission issue on editing events or a display issue after the category has been changed??

The edit page displays mostly as usual.
Except under categories there is just a fixed text with the category name, rather than a dropdown menu of categories.

This happens when there is only one permissible category - for example if your menu item is restricted to one category and you edit an event on this menu item then the category cannot be changed.
