Cannot add events. 404 Not Authorized

Have a number of events but today tried to add a few more dates to calendar and get error [b]404 You are not authorised to view this resource/perform this task.[/b]

Nothing had changed on site since last login.

Joomla 5.1.2

jEvents 3.6.82
Frontend or backend?

Does the problem arise on the edit page or during the save?

Check
1. you are logged in as a user authorised to add events
2. are you authorised to add events on the menu item you are using?
