Currently, my calendar does not have any events schedule for these remaining days of September 2020. Is there a way for the main calendar (via menu link) to automatically display October 2020?

I think you're misunderstanding.
I'm wondering if the component will display the next month's calendar if no events remain for the current months.
For example:
On Sept 29, there were no more events for the month. Could the calendar then automatically show October?
