HI,

I'm having a strange occurrence when trying to edit events from the front end. When I click on the pencil icon the screen goes a transparent black. I can see the edit menu underneath but when I click on it nothing happens.

Screen Shot 2018-12-05 at 12.42.40 pm.png

In JEvents control panel there is an error regarding the max_input_vars value in php.ini being currently set to 1000. I have changed it to the 2000 as suggested and restarted the server but it still seems to see 1000.

I can still manage events from the back end ok.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have added a guestadmin login to the custom fields below.

Many thanks
John

Hello,

That is caused by your mod_js_social_tabs_slider forcing a background z-index.

Please use:

body > .jevbootstrap {z-index:999999 !important;}
body > .jevbootstrap > div {z-index:999999 !important;}

I've applied this to: JEvents -> CustomCSS this for you and it's working well.

Please note JEvents 3.4.48 is out you are on 3.4.43.

Many thanks
Tony

Oh thank you thank you! Much appreciated. I can now edit the events via the front end. :D

I have tried to update JEvents via the Joomla update menu but I got an install error. Can I just manually upload the new version? I don't want to lose any settings.

Also just wondering if you have any idea why the page moves to the left when editing an event?

Thanks once again :)

Hey,

You are very welcome!

You sure can, it sounds like you may have a tmp folder / permissions issue if you can't install though. But feel free to download JEvents and try installing it via the Joomla! Extension Manager it should just install straight over.

Yeah, the page jumps to the left due to a class being added by bootstrap to you body class, then your template has css making it go left.

Many thanks
Tony

Thanks. I just tried installing the new version of JEvents via the extensions manager but had the same issue:

Warning
Copy file failed
Package Update: There was an error installing an extension: com_jevents.zip

How do I fix the permissions please?

Do you have akeeba admin tools installed? If so you can run a permissions fix, also check your hosting account has enough space.

Many thanks
Tony
