Hi there.
I am verry new to JEvents and glad that i am only trying out this tool so I did only loose a few test-events!

If you are creating a folder in your OS with an allready existing name, your OS warns you that the name already exists and doesnt let you override the folder with an empty one!

This safety mesure oviously dosn't exist in JEvents!

What happend is that :
1. I created a calendar in JEvents and filled it with a few events.
2. I creaded another Calender with imported events from facebook.
3. While facebook cathegory only was enabled, what I didnt realise, I couldnt find/see my old calendar
4. I clicked on "new" and created the old calendar with the old name again
5. After it still didnt appear I did Step 4 again.
6. Now i realised, that I was in the wrong cathegory and changed to all cathegories.
7. The old calendar appeared but after taking a look in the old calendar I saw that all events disappeared to nowhere!

I know thats a stupid self pranking trick but if that would have happend after a weeks work of inputting events....

Thx 4 reply...

Hello Art,

I really cannot see how something like that would happen?

JEvents Stores events based on their calendar ID so the name is completely irrelevant and the calendar ID is also auto incremental. So whenever you create a new calendar it has a new id always and can never be reused.

Also when trying to delete a category, you can't we initiated a stop to make sure you manually delete the events first...

Are you sure there isn't a filter still in place?

Many thanks
Tny

Thanks 4 reply but sorry Tony, you must be wrong! I dit try it again. 1st checked 4 all possible filters and investigated for my missing cals. If you were right I should have 5 cals instead of 3! Imported events from facebook into new fb_events cal ID 4, then clicked on new cal to set up a new empty cal with the samen name fb_events:

Message:
74 Event have been deleted.
0 iCal events processed
Kalender erstellt

NO WARNINGS JUST DELETED MY EVENTS and set up the new empty cal!!!
same name, same ID but empty!!!

I am using the free version of JEvents.
I can show you via TeamViewer if ya like.
I Also found another minor bug belonging 12/24 Time format, but still testing...

Greets, Art

This all wouldt had happened, I mean i would have never made that experience if there wouldn't be another little bug:
If you click on one cal in the manage cals tab and then save and close, it goes back to the manage cals tab showing all cathegories!
If you click on one cal in the manage cals tab and then just close without saving, it goes back to the manage cals tab but only showing the cathegory the cal you just edited is in!
