This page:

https://hpo.rutgers.edu/2016-02-04-14-52-11/range.listevents/-

fails an accessibility test. The error is:

<ul> and <ol> must only directly contain <li>, <script> or <template> elements

The error appears when the page is tested with either Deque aXe or Deque Worldspace. The issue applies to the table of events shown under the date range.

Thanks,
Eddie
Hi Eddie,

Ok that's a bit tricky to fix, we need to group events by day.. opposed to overall. It would mean a re-write. Or I could provide a template override and remove the day names from the list?

Many thanks

Tony,

Thanks for following up on this. We can wait for the fix to be included in a future upgrade to Jevents. You don't need to provide a template override - but thanks!

Best regards,
Eddie

Just a note that this problem still occurs with Joomla! 3.9.11 and JEvents 3.4.50:

https://irw.rutgers.edu/news-events/events-archive/range.listevents/

Are you able to provide a template override?

Thanks,
Eddie

I got a reply to this post via email, but I don't see it in the forum.

What file do I need to override to fix this problem? What do I need to change?

Hi Eddie,

Can you confirm which JEvents Theme you are using and also login with your club account?

Many thanks

Tony,
Hi, we are currently updating our subscription with Jevents, the purchase should be complete in a few days (it takes a little while here). Hopefully the actual tool can be 100% accessible...we are constantly running accessibility tests to make sure our sites are in compliance.

thank you!

Hello Laura,

No problem.

The flatplus is an older theme designed before the standards came in. Unfortunately we would completely need to change it to do that and we can't on the basis that it would have a break on any sites which may have customised/css changes.

IF you can provide super user and FTP logins on reply I can create a template override for you to remove the ul/li and use divs for instance.

Many thankls
Tony

tony,
Hi, unfortunately we are in a locked development environment so no one outside of our university can have login access.

Do you have another theme that you would recommend that is 100% accessible? Maybe we should consider going that route instead? About 2 years ago we felt that flatplus was the most flexible, responsive and accessible, so we added it our sites...

but we are open to other suggestions.
